The area offers good walking and touring, in the Black Mountains and the Beacons. The Barn is located on the Sugar Loaf lane. The Barn is within easy access to the link road from the A40 leading to the Black Mountains, Fforest Coalpit, Cwmyoy, Llanthony, Capel ffyn and Longtown. Fr the less adventurous a quite stroll along the canal way, a lovely way to explore the area.

The Barn is within walking distance of two quite country pubs which srve food. The Blue bell, Glangrwyne, 1.5 km or The Dragon's head, Llangenny, 1.5km. Both serve traditional meals. The nearedt super-market is in Abergavenny, 5km away. The nearest town is Crickhowell, 2.5km away.
